This past Friday, we celebrated our third graduating class through our in-house apprenticeship program. We had the pleasure of spending the evening with our 7 hardworking graduates and their families to celebrate their accomplishments. The graduates are Ted Green, Kyle McCormick, Austin Melvin, Grant Murphy, Chris Scott, Will Smith, and Andrew Teeter. Each graduate received a graduation present courtesy of our vendors which included a monogrammed high visibility jacket, a 2020 NFPA 70 code book, a 2020 Ugly's reference book, a cooler, a Hilti bag, a Klein backpack, and a hardhat. We are so proud of you guys and we look forward to the amazing things that you will accomplish!
“It was a privilege to instruct each of these young men. Knowing the caliber of skill and character each of them bring to the job everyday reassures me that we have the most qualified workforce available. Craftsmanship is in their veins, safety is in their heart.” -Floyd Ingram
Marathon Electrical Contractor Apprenticeship Program (MECAP) started in 2015. A modified version of the electrical curriculum from the National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) is used to guide the program. Graduates from the program have secured positions as project managers, job runners, and instructors for the program. Our current apprentices come from numerous divisions within our company including estimating, service, low voltage, fire alarm, international, pre-fabrication, construction, project management, and other office personnel. MECAP is accredited by NCCER as an Accredited Training Sponsor and registered with the Department of Labor. Upon graduation, graduates are eligible to take their journeyman exam.
