At Marathon, safety is more than a requirement — it’s a core value that drives everything we do. I’m proud to share some outstanding news from the field as we recognize two of our Marathon General Foremen for their exceptional commitment to safety and excellence.

🏆 Greg Burk – Hensel Helps 2026 Opportunity for Improvement (OFI) Award

Greg Burk was recently awarded the Hensel Helps 2026 Opportunity for Improvement (OFI) Award for his leadership during the duct bank installation at the MAL project.

Greg made history as the first recipient of this annual award, earning unanimous recognition from Hensel Phelps for his unwavering dedication to safety, productivity, and the high-quality work delivered by him and his team.

He was presented with a plaque and a $1,000 check by Area Superintendent Ryan Pinkham — a well-deserved honor that reflects the standard Greg sets on site every day.

His leadership not only ensures work gets done right, but that it gets done safely.

🦺 Fernando Guzman – Safety Difference Maker Award

Fernando Guzman was honored with the Safety Difference Maker Award in recognition of his and his team’s dedication to safety and the extra effort he puts in daily to ensure every crew member goes home safe.

Fernando’s leadership, consistency, and proactive approach to jobsite safety continue to set the tone for excellence. He leads by example and reinforces the culture we strive to uphold across all projects.

Building a Stronger Safety Culture

Greg and Fernando represent what makes Marathon exceptional — leaders who prioritize their teams, take ownership of safety, and consistently deliver high-quality results.

Please join me in congratulating Greg and Fernando on this well-earned recognition. We greatly appreciate the dedication they bring to our safety culture and their continued support of our safety team.

Their commitment makes a difference — every single day.
